What can I expect at one of your classes?
Expect something different everyday. Starting off with a warm up, our classes can include:Â
- Technique breakdowns from our coaches to rehearse for yourself
- Technique drills to apply new methods learned in action.
- Pad and bag drills to improve conditioning, fitness and power.
- Sparring, putting it all together in the most realistic form possible. To avoid injuries, our rule is âOnly hit as hard as you would want to be hitâ.
Does what you teach actually work, or are you one of those âMcDojosâ?
All of our coaches are experienced and certified and a number of students are competing in martial arts championships.
BEWARE of phoney martial arts schools offering expert tuition, do your research on if their coaches have a credible reputation. For proof, look at our coaches and their achievements.
Is it safe?
100%! Your safety is our top priority, and we keep this in mind for everything we do in our classes. We use sparring and training methods that minimize risk, making martial arts safe and accessible for anyone.
What if Iâm too old / unfit for martial arts?
Itâs never too late to start training in martial arts, no matter how old or unfit you are. Our classes are designed for all fitness levels, and our coaches will help you progress at your own pace.
Do I need experience in martial arts to start?
No experience? No problem. At OFA, we have beginner-only classes suited to those whoâve never thrown a punch in their life.Â
What should I wear / bring?
Comfortable workout clothes and a water bottle are all you need. All equipment is provided, and thereâs high-quality equipment on sale at the gym.
Is OFA just for fighters?
Most of our members don't compete in martial arts, whereas we have a lot who do. Most of our members are here to learn self-defence, improve fitness, gain confidence and get in great shape.
What if I donât have enough time?
Really? If you're serious about making a change, building confidence and skyrocketing your fitness alongside a supportive community of fighters, you can make time for yourself. Weâve got classes 7 days a week, have a look at our timetable to find a time that suits youđŞ
